Hi loopers,

It's going to be a true summer muggy and wet end of the week and there's a real "last call" energy to a lot of outdoor programming before school schedules creep back in. This weekend brings a magic show, a car-free stretch of Amsterdam Ave, and a parkour class for the kids who treat every curb like an obstacle course.

As always, everything below is free unless noted, because "What should we do?" shouldn't turn into Saturday morning stress. Don't forget to check out the recurring activities at the end.

P.S. I can’t believe we now have 415 subscribers - welcome to The Parent Loop! I’m so glad you’re here.

Have a friend who wants to sign up? Share the link here and follow @theparentloopnyc for more. Quick tip: Click on the “Read online” (top right) so your reading view doesn’t get trimmed.

Around The Loop: Little shoutouts, local sightings, and meaningful connections from the week.

  • A WhatsApp group for single and co-parenting parents: This will be a space for parents navigating single parenting or co-parenting — whether after divorce, separation, or another family structure — to connect and share resources. We've already got two toddler members (ages 3 and 4.5) planning volleyball and frisbee hangs! Just reply to this email with your phone number, and I'll add you to the WhatsApp group!

  • Big Apple Grandmas (BAGs) is gaining traction! Is your mom or mother-in-law looking for more local friends? Share BAGs, a community of grandmothers on the UWS connecting through childcare buddies, bike rides, mahjong, cards, dinners, walks, shows, and more. To join, have them text Melissa at (479) 719-1586.

  • Loved taking advantage of Restaurant Week at Sempre Oggi (always a fave!) with Mandy + Isaura. We chatted about the good, the bad, and the yummy. Spotted: other moms hanging out at the bar. Love to see it!

  • We had our 4th book club last night at Saperavi and we may have wanted more out of this novel but the food was delicious. This book club is full, but there’s another WhatsApp chat with 12 members ready to get started—all they need is a book club lead! Reach out if this could be you.

One less back-to-school errand? Yes, please.

Meet Carousel. Even better: Check out their trade-in program where you get instant credit towards your next capsule.

The Parent Loop community gets 10% off select capsules with code PARENTLOOP. Minimum purchase $42. Get yours here.
