Hi loopers,
It has been a week over here: a kid with a cold, missed school, work, last minute childcare gymnastics, and not much sleep. She is thankfully on the mend, but I have a feeling we are not the only ones heading into the weekend running on fumes. We are, however, looking forward to the weekend and a visit from abuela (grandma).
In case you missed it, The Parent Loop + Morning Meeting are throwing our first dance party for moms and the women in their lives: Let’s go, moms! Join us at West Side Comedy Club (75th & Broadway) on Wednesday, April 29, from 7–10 PM. Tickets are $45. Expect throwback singalongs and great music from mom DJ MK — because this Wednesday is for you. Get your tickets here.
As always, all events below are free unless otherwise noted. Because “What should we do?” should not turn into Saturday morning stress. Follow @theparentloopnyc on Instagram for more.
I’m always looking for great local partners. If your business would like to sponsor the dance party, contribute to a swap, or be part of a future The Parent Loop event, reply here and let’s grab coffee!
(New section!) Around The Loop: Little shoutouts, local sightings, and meaningful connections from the week.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Caitlin! This mom-to-be will be welcoming her little one in May.
It makes me so happy that two TPL moms met at bookclub, live in the same building, and just got together for a playdate.
Happy birthday to Apollo, and thank you for such a fun celebration. We especially loved the beautiful, delicious cake created by his nanny, Mery. She uses passed-down recipes from the tías — the aunties — which makes it feel even more special. They’re based in Fort Lee, NJ and offer delivery within a 20-mile radius, plus 2–3 day shipping. Check out Las Tías Bakehouse and their custom cakes here, or contact them on WhatsApp at 201-253-6751.
